TV Basketball Poker - fun, fun

This one is true betting art.  Ok, here’s how it works. You can play with virtually any number of players.  You’ll need a televised basketball game and you’ll need to be sitting close enough so that you can see the numbers of the players when they score.  You establish an order of players and it really doesn’t matter.  Decide how much is in the betting pot.  Each time a player scores you’ll use the number to make a single card in your poker hand.  We have actually used a deck of cards to help remember what you have (you just pull the number out of the deck and place it in front of you.).

If a three pointer is scored you get to do one of the following:

Take the second number and use this as the number in your hand.  OR

Add the numbers together, again using the second number (if two) in your hand

Multiply the numbers together and use the second digit (if there are two) as the number in your hand. OR

.

If a two pointer is scored.

Take the second number and put it in your hand.  OR

Add the numbers together and put it in your hand.

Lastly.

If the score is a free throw.  You only get the second number in your hand.

Keep going until each player has a 5 card hand.  You can have some fun with this one by varying your scoring options and poker games.  For example, you can play Texas Hold’me basketball poker.  As always, your comments are welcome.
